Dear Friends

I am announcing my candidacy for Utah House of Representatives, District 47.  After my 2008 Senate run I am even more convinced that people in the southwest part of the Salt Lake Valley, especially in District 47, demand ethical, fair and reasonable representation.

The vocal right wing extremists occupying newspaper headlines are a minority – and our current representatives have not shown that he has the ability to stand up for what is fair and reasonable.  I will serve with honor and dignity and focus on the real issues that impact my community.

There are major issues that impact our district that have only worsened over the last two years.  The Canyons/Jordan School District Split has turned into a critical state wide debate that is showing a true division not only the Utah Legislature, but down to every community and neighborhood.  With the exception of the Trax expansion, transportation for this district has not improved.

I will work to restore proper education funding and work with others in the legislature to come up with a long term solution.

I will use my leadership, education, experience, and the ability to work with others to represent the people of District 47.
